I got invited to play my first game. Help me learn to play.

I'm a long-time admirer of the game, and I've painted some stuff here and there. I've been invited to play with a new friend and their group. They play on Saturdays, usually combat patrol. What video do I watch, what book do I read, what article do I look up to help me learn to play this game as quickly and efficiently as possible. Do I need to know all the rules to the base game as well as the combat patrol rules? If so, please direct me to the same media that will assist in that as well.

I've got a fully painted Tyranid combat patrol (the one that came in the starter box), and I've got the warriors painted out of a Necron combat patrol. I've got everything but the librarian for the space marine combat patrol. All unpainted on those. Which of these three is best to start with?

Frodo and Sam, Bracket 3: Hobbit typal with a flare for the beauty of the Lord of the Rings. I've custom printed the cards I've swapped out to upgrade the deck to have in-universe art for the Lord of the Rings. This is my favorite deck to play for a casual, enjoyable experience.

Terra, Magical Adept, low bracket 4: summon typal. Can pop off, but really just has such a cool vibe.

The Destined Warrior, Bracket 3: this deck is goofy, lol. It's party themed for the commander... But it's also dungeon themed. So the whole idea is that the party is advancing through the dungeons together. Very fun and flavorful deck.

Ganax, Astral Hunter and Folk Hero, bracket 3: play dragons, make treasures... Use treasures to make dragons to make treasures to make dragons to make treasures to make....

Betor, Ancestor's Voice, Bracket 3: breathe in, breathe out. This deck is strong, fun, and effective.

Davros, Dalek Creator, bracket 2: this deck is just fun to play because you're constantly twirling your mustaches, real or imagined, and asking "mwhahaha would you like to make a villainous choice?"

Imotekh The Stormlord, bracket 3: filter everything through the yard to make an army of nameless skelly bois.

We don't usually run nonland tutors or infinite combos in our decks, but otherwise we build them for fun and to win.

I don't have a monowhite commander, and I can't find one I think is interesting. That's where you come in.

I like a fun, thematic deck. One that doesn't have to be built to destroy, but to "do the thing." Whatever that thing is. I don't wanna durdle, but I want my thing to be consistent.

Talk me into building YOUR mono-white commander suggestion :)

So I've got a desk built into a wall in my home office. The desk covers the bottom like 1/5 of the window in the room, making a window unit AC a hard sell unless it's got a very slim profile inside the house. I wanted to ask for suggestions on how I can cool the room without sawing into my desk. The room is 12x8 with a very small closet attached. It has a very good ceiling fan, but it can only do so much when it hits 82f in the room because I've got a computer and a monitor running.
