I'm going to be talking specifically about the near endings of Demo 2/4, around the 2nd Griefer boss fight and the Captain Trotter boss fight

While Captain Trotter's arc and Griefer's arc are incredibly different, they reach their climax/conclusion in incredibly similar ways

They are both heavily affected by the Swords (Venomshank/Firebrand), effectively driving them both insane with anger and grief, causing them to attack the player and attempt to kill them.

After their defeat, they are both seen kneeling/on the floor, before using their respective swords in a final desperate attempt to do something, and failing miserably.

Both chapters also utilize the fake-out final boss trick that no other chapted uses the way Demo 2/4 do. With both having a boss, cutscene, and immediately final boss (2nd Griefer -> Cutscene -> Bubonic Plant; Captain Trotter -> Cutscene -> The Ancients), while every other chapter let's you move around as the player for a bit before you get to the final boss.

Also, both swords have incredibly similar abilities, and both share a "sword in the stone" appearance before the sword is taken.

And both Captain Trotter and Griefer have some sort of connection to Calypso. Albeit, Griefer's is much more distance, only knowing her through her sister, they know each other in some way.

Demo 2 and Demo 4 share some pretty interesting parallels, yet they're also completely different, that the parallels don't feel so obvious.
