Cursed Technique: Imperial Regalia
A technique based around the summoning of the three great treasures of Japan, said to have been inherited by descendants of the Special Grade Reverse Cursed Spirit Amaterasu. Rather than a typical technique, when empowered by Positive Energy the technique is not reversed, rather it is empowered, often taking on its true form. The summonings involved in this technique require hefty amounts of either Cursed Energy or Positive Energy, however, after manifesting, the tools power themselves due to their nature as Shikigami, typically requiring only a trickle of power to maintain their manifestation.
It allows for the summoning of items that are somewhere between Shikigami formed of light, and Cursed Tools. This technique acts as a sort of counterpart to the Ten Shadows Technique, forming its Shikigami as tools made out of Light instead of creatures made out of Shadow. As a side effect, this technique becomes weaker and more expensive as the amount of light in the area decreases, and grows in power when exposed to direct sunlight.
When a tool is destroyed, as long as pieces remain, they can be summoned and repaired under intense sunlight, and with liberal application of Positive Energy. Should a tool be completely obliterated, it is lost forever.
Basic Usage: The user can, to a medium degree, manipulate light, creating illusions and images, along with incredibly simple constructs like a sword or a shield. Users of this technique find the conversion of Cursed Energy to Positive Energy incredibly easy, typically requiring near zero effort for simple uses like imbuing it offensively. While this gives a leg up on learning RCT, and Technique Reversals, the sorcerer must still discover how to route that Positive Energy through their body and mind, and how to allow it to properly heal.
Technique 1: Ame-no-Murakumo-no-Tsurugi: The heavenly sword Susanoo-no-Mikoto took from the corpse of Yamata-no-Orochi. It manifests as a large jade tsurugi whose hilt is ringed by clouds. It can be allowed to fight of its own will, acting as a simple, yet powerful, autonomous weapon, or it can be wielded by the user, multiplying their physical strength, and causing each of their attacks to be followed by slashes of cutting green wind. When powered by Cursed Energy it simply acts as a powerful weapon, however, when used by someone who has mastered RCT, it takes on a nature similar to the Sword of Extermination wielded by Mahoraga, becoming a weapon of pure Positive Energy, imbuing even its wind with that same energy.
Obtainment: This tool must be obtained before any of the other trials can be attempted. The user must learn to enter their technique’s innate domain, through the practice of visualization and Cursed Energy control. Within that domain they must slay a sleeping serpent, and take the blade from its remains. This serpent is typically a cursed spirit of equal grade to the sorcerer who is entirely unaffected by Reverse Cursed Energy, and it is not uncommon for a new sorcerer to be slain while attempting to gain their first tool this way.
Extension Technique: Ame-no-Murakumo-no-Tsurugi - Rule the Skies: An extension technique requiring massive Cursed Energy output. It creates a tempest of razor wind, light, and water, all of which surges out front the sword in a massive and wide ranging storm.
Technique 2: Yata-no-Kagami - Mirror of Heaven: The divine mirror of Amaterasu, representing the sun, this shikigami acts as the ultimate defense of the Imperial Regalia. Once summoned, it takes the form of a metal disc that floats alongside the user, slowly drifting around them. While imbued with Cursed Energy, it acts independently to protect its wielder, interposing barriers of Cursed Energy between the wielder and any attacks imbued with Cursed Energy. When imbued with Positive Energy the defense is weaker, at best halving the power of an attack, however any Cursed Energy, or technique powered by Cursed Energy, that meets the mirror’s defense is also reflected back at the original source.
Obtainment: The user must spend an entire day within a domain formed by the technique, constantly exposed to scorching light and burning earth. Should they remain within the domain for a full day without breaking or dying, they gain access to the mirror.
Extension Technique: Yata-no-Kagami - Shine: Imbuing Positive Energy into the mirror, the user creates either a powerful directed beam of Positive Energy manifesting as light, or a weaker but wider area zone of Positive Energy, acting as a potent ranged attack, or a large area that weakens cursed spirits while invigorating humans.
Technique 3: Yasakani-no-Magatama: Taking the form of a beautiful glowing red jewel upon a necklace, while worn by the user, the two Magatama passively convert light into Positive Energy, sunlight being most efficient, and feed it into the user’s body, allowing them a constant form of RCT, even should they be unable to use it normally. This has a side effect of making them incredibly unappealing to curses, having a low level repulsive effect, akin to a human smelling rotting food. When paired with proper innate RCT, the healing provided becomes incredibly efficient, making it nearly impossible for a user wearing the Magatama to be killed as long as their head remains intact, they are exposed to light, and the jewel is not removed from their body.
Obtainment: The user must enter the technique’s innate domain. Within the domain they must endure eight strikes from Amaterasu Ōmikami. If they survive, they receive the ability to summon the Yasakani-no-Magatama, and are restored to full health.
Extension Technique: Yasakani-no-Magatama - Benevolence: By granting the Yasakani-no-Magatama to another, the Sorcerer may link their Cursed Energy. While so-linked, Cursed Energy can be expended from either partner’s reserve by either partner. If one partner is capable of using RCT they can use it to heal either their partner or themself. While so gifted however, the passive RCT effect of the Magatama is lost.
Maximum Technique: Amaterasu Ōmikami: The pinnacle technique of Imperial Regalia, by dismissing the three simultaneously summoned Regalia items, the user summons their Divine Ancestor, the special grade Reverse Cursed Spirit Amaterasu. Amaterasu manifests as a beautiful 10 foot tall woman in ornate robes. She wields her own copy of the Ame-no-Murakumo-no-Tsurugi, Yata-no-Kagami, and Yasakani-no-Magatama, and has access to the innate techniques of all three, along with limitless Positive Energy. This results in incredible destructive power, defensive technique reflection, and RCT healing, however, should the user’s heart waver for even a moment, or their concentration and control lapse for a second, Amaterasu will slip their control, becoming hostile to all life that contains even trace amounts of Cursed Energy, including her own summoner, attempting to purify them through the light of the sun with intense prejudice.
Obtainment: This technique lacks an obtainment ritual. Instead it is acquired as soon as the trials of all three sacred treasures have been passed. The Cursed Energy requirement to enact this summon is incredible, though after the summoning is performed she becomes self-sustaining. Instead of a trial to acquire her, each summoning is a trial, testing the will and commitment of the Sorcerer attempting to command her.
Domain Expansion - Heavenly Sky Palace: A vast and empty expanse of crystalline reflective stone beneath a brilliant blue sky filled with white clouds, and crowned by a blazing sun. While inside the domain, the user can infinitely resummon her Shikigami at no cost, even if they are destroyed. In addition, the domain has a constant exhausting effect as the heat of the sun saps the strength of their limbs, while instead invigorating the user of the technique.
