2017 BMW X5 N55 engine tick/knock
Engine knock sound starter mild and got worse. No engine code at first. Now has Drivetrain error on screen and OBD reader shows VANOS code. I have replaced the VANOS intake solenoid and engine knock is still there. When changing the solenoid there seemed to be some metal shavings on it. Is this the dreaded Rod knock?
