The Elixir Oracle by Jonah Meltzer, A Mystical Meta-Modern Oracle Deck
This is the kind of deck whose mythology grows as you use it. Each card in this curated oracle deck explores a spectrum of emotions, memories, and associations unique to the individual. The color and texture variations are treated like ingredients in a potion, or like resonant chords in music.
Each card is a still of a hand-painted image that involved layering paint and then sanding to reveal natural reticulations and color play. Crystal and semi precious paints were used in the original artwork and are used as a way to “tune” the painting.
The rainbow oracle cards can be read entirely intuitively, using feelings and associations. However, an Oracle Guidebook is also included, offering vivid interpretations of the nuances of the cards.
This is a tool for engaging the intuition: a spyglass to make sense of the messages sliding under our mind’s doorstep. It is a standalone or excellent accompaniment to tarot.
