I think besides the unique sound and production the key reason James Murphy's music is so incredibly is the near perfect balance between emotion and groove. Obviously in the past there have been examples of that happening from Joy Division to any dance punk song from the 70s, but I think LCD Soundsystem has honestly done it best. I don't think it even comes close. Every* song is as equally devastating or sentimental as it is fun and energetic.(Besides the few purely dance songs, IE Daft Punk is playing at my house and others.) I dunno, just a little thought I had that no one seems to mention much when talking about LCD Soundsystem or his music. Maybe im insane, I could cry to so much of his music, can anyone relate?
