I’m not giving up yet but
Okay so I’ll start by saying I’ll probably watch a minimum 140 of this season’s games and I’m not looking to have a shit time, so I truly hope they turn it around here.
With that said, my biggest fear is that they win 80 something and no one really pays for it. The least informed Red Sox fan knows they didn’t make the right moves this offseason. Yes they may have improved the defense but, at the end of the day, you win ballgames by scoring runs. They need pop and they just don’t have it.
The team I’m watching every day looks like a small market team but, thing is, they are spending money. If they lose 90 games this year with the 6th highest payroll in the game, maybe there would actually be some changes.
People say Henry only cares about Liverpool (maybe) or making money (okay yeah, definitely) but I find it hard to believe that spending what he’s spending to finish fourth/fifth is acceptable to him. If that’s what it takes to get Breslow the fuck outta there (and the whole analytics department with him) and hire some people with the personal skills to actually put together a roster that make sense on the field, I might be okay with it.
