Annoyed w Dr Reaction
Started 25 mgs four days ago, beginning to itch all over. Dr sent me to urgent care and is stopping medication despite the fact that there is NO visible rash nor any other crazy symptoms. It’s clearly NOT Steven-Johnson’s and the urgent care ppl were also saying to just keep watching in case it gets worse and that it could be a totally normal adjustment to the meds and go away as a pretty mild symptom, not even a rash or hives or anything.
It’s really annoying because my MAIN concern about starting mood stabilizers is my libido going down and weight gain, and it seems there’s no other mood stabilizers that don’t cause those side effects. I’m honestly pissed off, and I wanna tell him I’m not concerned and I would really rather just keep taking this one and monitor symptoms instead of freaking out about it and putting me on something that’s going to destroy my self image and life even worse than the bipolar disorder. It’s clearly not Steven Johnson’s, I wish I hadn’t told him I was having mild itching at all. Being 100% honest with doctors seems to always backfire, they always end up fucking up my life when I offer full transparency and try to be a good patient.
