Any lawyers in this group?

I was checking our mail today and just opened all the envelopes without looking and when I looked closely I saw that I had opened an envelope from the Department of Homeland Security addressed to someone else (not me or anyone in my family) but with our home address.

The letter a violation notice of status and civil penalty fine and information about being deported.

I have never received mail addressed to this person before so clearly they made an error but I have no idea what to do. I don't want the DHS to think this person lives at our address?

I went to the post office with the letter and explained what happened and asked them to return to sender and say that this person does not live at our address. They take care of it.

Any advice on what else I can do here? As you can guess my biggest fear is ICE breaking down our door looking for this person who they think lives at our address.
