Well road trip number 1 didn’t go as planned. Hit a big piece of metal on the interstate a couple of hours in. Three cars hit it. All of us are on the side of the road. Been waiting two hours for a tow truck from VW roadside assistance. Going to the closest dealer but they don’t stock the tires. They said it will be tomorrow until they get one. This is very scary and uncomfortable. I hope it didn’t do any further damage.

I’m taking my first road trip. I plan to use ABRP as my nav app. But then how do you precondition the battery for fast charging? All I see is that the native VW nav system will automatically start preconditioning when it is set to stop at a charger. But what if you aren’t using the native VW system? Do you have to use both somehow? Or is there a manual precondition? (This isn’t preconditioning the cabin, it’s for the battery to fast charge.)
