Hi All, hoping for some guidance-

I got invited to the ‘return to home port’ ceremony for my best friends ship, from googling I know the ceremony is somewhat formal, but as an attendee is there any expectations? I asked and she said ‘wear whatever’ but that is.. not super helpful. It’s in San Diego so warm weather, I (M) am not sure if I should go like button up/ slacks or is just like pants / t shirt okay? Honestly considering bringing both in my car and trying to scope what other people are wearing, I don’t want to be severely over or under dressed for the seriousness of the occasion.
