Hi everyone,

I recently got a BM Cloud Dock 4 and tried to connect four NVMe SSDs using a U.2 adapter. The dock flashes green once, but then nothing else happens. I’m currently trying to format the NVMe drives, which has been challenging: my MacBook doesn’t detect them at all, and my older Windows PC sees the drives but won’t let me format them.

Has anyone experienced the same issue or knows how to get this unit working? There’s almost no tutorial or useful information available online. I hoped this would be a good mobile storage solution, but there seems to be a problem I’m not seeing...

I’m looking for a NAS solution that runs exclusively on NVMe SSDs, has at least one 10GbE port, and ideally includes several USB 4 ports. The catch is that I’d like to install it as a rackmount inside a case so I can use it as local data storage and an editing suite during mobile video productions (mostly at festivals). Plus I would like to install additional cooling, a UPS and Ethernet switch.

However, I can’t find anything suitable except the LOCKERSTOR 8 Gen3 (AS6808T), which is really more of a desktop NAS.

Does anyone have any experience or ideas?
