Do you take a "light touch" approach with RTV mods, or have you completely overhauled the game experience? What is your favorite mod.

I have a long mod list, over 20 of them, but I consider them all to be mostly "gentle nudges" in terms of how they affect the experience. The overall gameplay loop and strategy doesn't change much, it's just dressed up with some QoL changes. Container Peek and Wallet and Cash are probably the biggest departures from the original gameplay experience.

However, in scrolling through the list of available mods, I can see there are ways to completely change how the game is played, from complete AI overhauls to effectively turning the game into something resembling STALKER or Metro.

How do you prefer to mod the game? Do you tweak a bit here and there or is your experience unrecognizable compared to vanilla RTV? Regardless, what is your favorite mod and why? To me it might be the Feel graphics mid just because no matter what experience you're going for, you can make it look better very easily.

Does this game startle the hell out of anyone else? (not a complaint)

I swear to god, this game strikes this balance between long periods of quiet and sudden bursts of activity that sometimes it sends me through the ceiling.

I just died because I encountered an enemy waiting for me in the bathroom in a house, and EVEN THOUGH I had prepared myself for such an occasion, gun at high ready and all, he began firing at me right as I rounded the corner and I jumped so hard I managed to hit both my inventory and my reload keys and by the time my conscious mind had figured out how to get back to the point I could fire back I was already dead.

I don't think I've played a horror game or watched a horror movie that managed to startle me as much as this game does.

Skill issue? Probably, as it's not hard to startle me. Indicative of good game design? I would say so, due to what it says about how the games atmosphere is executed. Stressful? A little!

Not complaining or whining, just making an observation and wondering if this game has this effect on anyone else.
