I am 52 and have never experienced a dream like I had the other night. So I went to visit my son and my 7-month-old grandbaby. I just put the baby down for a nap. My son wanted me to stay because his wife was working all day and, while he is an amazing father, I think he is just more comfortable not being alone with the baby for extended periods. Anyway, he was exhausted and I had pulled an all nighter working the night before. When the baby fell asleep, I said I’m going to lie down on the couch and fall asleep for a minute. So I barely closed my eyes and was asleep. I wake up and my son is there. I’m talking to him and all of a sudden I notice something is just “off” and think to myself. Omg. I’m sleeping! I then wake up for real and hear the baby in his crib. I go there to see him and same thing. I realize I’m in a dream. Wake up for real for real, only to figure out I’m not awake. I think to myself, am I dead? Is this death? Just a loop? Same thing. Repeats I don’t know how many times until I’m finally awoken by my phone ringing. I am so relieved…except I’m still not actually awake. I remember thinking that I don’t do psychedelics and then thinking well if I am dead this isn’t so bad. I still get to hang out with my family. I finally did wake up. But even then, I still wasn’t sure if I was really awake. It was the absolute most realistic dream I’ve ever had. Ive also never had a loop like that. Has anyone experienced anything similar???
