Best celebrity memoirs with actual DRAMA, gossip, trauma, scandals etc? (Loved Jennette McCurdy’s)
I’ve realised I don’t actually want the standard “I struggled, worked hard, then became successful” memoir
I want MESS. I want Hollywood chaos. I want toxic family dynamics, paparazzi eras, addiction, scandals, affairs, breakdowns, weird industry stories, fame ruining people psychologically, insane behind-the-scenes gossip etc.
I absolutely LOVED I’m Glad My Mom Died by Jeanette McCurdy because it felt so vivid and specific. She’d describe moments from a certain era and I could literally go online, look up the photos/interviews from that time, and suddenly the whole thing felt even crazier knowing what was happening behind the scenes. That’s the vibe I’m after.
I think I lean more towards female memoirs because the emotional detail/gossip tends to be better, BUT if there’s a male celeb memoir that’s genuinely unhinged/scandalous, I’m open.
