Hey everyone,

I’m currently interviewing for one of the big companies, and I’m on STEM OPT that expires this December.

I know I’ll need H-1B sponsorship next cycle, but I’m not sure how to communicate this to recruiters without making it sound risky.

Should I keep it super simple like:

“I’m on STEM OPT until December and would need H-1B sponsorship next cycle”?

Also, if they ask what happens after December, how do you usually answer that?

I’ve heard mixed opinions about mentioning Day 1 CPT, so I’m not sure if that helps or hurts.

Would really appreciate advice from anyone who’s been in a similar situation or hires candidates 🙏
