Liquid Thrown at Me and Racist Remarks by Passing Van
Thought this would be the forum to get some help. I was walking home and I was at the junction of Walker Street just about to cross over to get to Melville Crescent at around 10:20ish PM on 9th May. A van was approaching from William Street and I stopped to let it by. The man in the passenger seat threw some liquid at me and said racist remarks. They drove off at a speed so I didn't have time to take my phone out of my pocket and record the van. But I remember the van had a giant green leaf at the back and could be a commercial cleaning company. I've already contacted one company but they said the don't operate at that time. So I'm wondering if anyone noticed a sports van with a giant green circular leaf at the back any info would be helpful.
UPDATE:
I’ve since been contacted by the company regarding the van, and they confirmed that the individual involved has been dismissed. Thank you to everyone who offered advice and support on this matter.
Unfortunately, this is not the first time I’ve experienced this kind of incident, and sadly it likely won’t be the last. Since moving to the city centre, I’ve been subjected to abuse from random individuals on different occasions and was once physically assaulted by a stranger on Palmerston Place. The police were involved at the time, but the case was eventually closed due to a lack of evidence and the absence of CCTV coverage in the area.
All of these incidents were completely unprovoked, and I’m honestly just sick of people thinking they can hurl abuse at others without consequence.
