The story attached to the 7th floor race bares slight similarities to the Dr. Who season 9 episode 11 “Heaven Sent”. It was the first thing that came to mind when I reread Prepotente describe how the child was forced into a maze only, to realize after many failed attempts, he must break through the glass to escape.
Kind of like how the Doctor had to break out of the maze like prison to realize he had to break the diamond wall blocking his “exit”. This is definitely not a 1:1 connection, but I still thought it was interesting! It’s could also be based on the Brothers Grimm story “The shepherd boy” but I’m only putting that there because that was the inspiration of the Dr. WHO episode.
