I noticed this small hole in our oak flooring. There were these wood shavings or pieces in the hole. The hole does run a few inches up the underside of the board, unexposed. Wasn’t sure if it was just an imperfection in the wood now getting exposed with wear and tear (probably 15yrs old if I had to guess) or something worse like termites. Appreciate any insight or advice. Thank you.
Update - I just finished canvassing my floor with a flashlight and it appears that the previous owner had wood filler repairs done. I’m skeptical that this may be old and was filled with wood shavings and wood putty or filler that has since come out, due to my dog and our foot traffic.
Regardless, going to have my pest control by to check it out.
