Hi there,

My name’s Ian—I’m planning a backpacking trip in Yosemite from October 4–8 with a few friends. I’ve done a decent amount of hiking/backpacking/camping before, just haven’t made it out to Yosemite yet, so I wanted to double-check a couple things.

First, are we good to leave a rental car parked at Glacier Point for a few days while we’re out?

Also, I know October is getting toward the end of the dry season—should I expect water to be tough to find, or are most sources still running?

And lastly, I just wanted to confirm that we can stay at a backpackers campground the night before our permit starts.

Really appreciate any help—just trying to make sure I’ve got everything squared away for the group.
