Weird fulfillment question and situation?

Fulfillment btw.Ever since our new store director came in, he’s been talking about units per hour (UPH), and how most of us don’t pick “to target’s standard”. Our slower days in MPM we average 78 UPH, but most of us pick at 105-115 UPH according to MPM. But this new SD introduced a new way to calculate it and uses their phone calculator to do so, and says that’s our actual picks. If I remember correctly, it’s hours worked, units picked, and stowing time and then that’s our actual productivity. I’ve been working here nearly half a decade and we have never had our performance be measured like that.. Everytime we mention the fact that that doesn’t account for breaks or lunches, answering call buttons, or anything like that we get told we’re just not understand it and it’s “simple.” Has anyone else encountered this and is this an actual valid way to measure our performance?

The whole thing is weird and too much to type so plz ask questions so I can try to explain
