Hi all, I am at my wit's end with this issue. I've contacted Apple support 3 times now and can't seem to fix this problem so I'm hoping someone here might have some insight.

I just recently got my first ever macbook (M5 Air, loving it so far) and I've been trying to get my notifications to work how I want them to. I know that Apple software sends notifications to the "active" device, which isn't usually a problem but it's become a problem specifically with messages. When I am gaming I naturally don't get the message pop-up on my macbook, but I also don't get the notification on my iPhone. This has caused me to miss messages and has been really annoying. This problem also occurs when I am not gaming or in a fullscreen app. I have turned off message forwarding, turned off handoff, turned off allow notifications from iPhone, turned off notifications during screen share, and turned off notifications from messages on my mac. I don't know what else to do short of completely disabling iMessage on my mac which I'd like to avoid if possible.

In short, my goal is to have messages accessible on both my iPhone and my mac but only show notifications on my iPhone. TIA!
