Currently I’m playing a Bari Hybrid 6 on my alto sax (yanagisawa aw02) but I’m looking to upgrade it to a better mouthpiece with a bit more projection. I currently play alto 1 in a big band and I’m looking to join a better band next year when I go to uni. I’m looking for a mouthpiece that will allow me to blend in a big band setting but that also has a brighter more poppy sound for fusion stuff with my friends. Does such a mouthpiece exist or am I just going to have to prioritise one style and get a one to fit that? Any advice/recommendations appreciated as I know very little about mouthpieces.
