Credit outage on April 25th
If you went into HF on 4/25 (during the 30% off under $20 sale) and the POS denied your card, double check your statements.
I went in and got declined, they tried again and was also declined. Switched registers and tried a different card.. declined. They discovered that it was a nation wide issue, and were unable to complete the sale.
I left empty handed. No big deal, these sales come around often enough. The problem came when I checked my statement and saw that the charges went through!
I drove back to the store to speak with the manager, but was told that they don't handle that and if have to call corporate. Again, no big deal, I understand shit happens. I called and was told that they had already put in a reversal for the charges and everything was taken care of. A week later and the charges were still there.
I got an email saying they were aware of the issue, and it would be resolved by May 7th. It wasn't. I called back on the 8th and was told they'd escalate the ticket and get back to me. They didn't. Called back yesterday and they told me they can't figure it out, so I'd have to dispute it through my CC.
Again, I understand shit happens, but it's frustrating to be strung along for weeks only to have them throw their hands up and have to start over on my end.
I occurred to me that others may not be aware that they were charged that day, so I wanted to advise anyone that was there during the outage to double check your statement to ensure you weren't mistakenly charged and not refunded.
