Logically, it is completely contradictory to say that a God who is good, creates only good, and is love Himself, would have intentionally created a human being (women) destined for servitude and oppression from the very beginning. He placed freedom and power into the hands of every human being. Including women. I will go even further. The secret of Christian marriage lies in the fact that it is an earthly reflection of the covenant between Christ and the Church. As the Apostle Paul writes: 'This is a profound mystery—but I am talking about Christ and the church' (Ephesians 5:32). This relationship defines the dynamics between husband and wife: the husband's vocation is the sacrificial love with which 'Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her' (Ephesians 5:25), and the wife's is the trust-filled response with which the Church clings to her Redeemer. In this covenant, the two 'become one flesh' (Genesis 2:24), which means not only physical unity but a total community of fate. Thus, marital fidelity is actually a living testament to God's unwavering love in the world. So, it is in no way about oppression...

Equality is not a question: men and women are of equal value and dignity. When the Bible uses the term 'head of the family,' it does not imply dominance or superiority, but rather responsibility and initiative. This is a leadership role, yet it is not about dominance, but service. Men and women can best develop their abilities in different areas, and in a well-functioning relationship, these complement each other. At the same time, this does not mean a hierarchy of superior and inferior: ideally, decisions are mutual, based on mutual respect and cooperation. In the Christian parallel, the man represents Christ, and the woman represents the Church. As the 'head,' Christ did not rule; He led through self-sacrifice and took responsibility. If we take this as our model, the role of the 'head' does not mean power, but putting the other party's welfare first, even at one's own expense. Therefore: there is equality, but not total identity of roles. There is leadership, but its measure is self-sacrifice, not control. This distinction is the key.

Where is the contradiction? In Genesis 3? Immediately after the first sin occurred, the state of the world fundamentally changed. If someone commits a sin today—for example, delivering a fatal blow during a fight—it has serious and multifaceted consequences: imprisonment, gnawing guilt, the stigma on the family, and financial ruin. After sin, nothing remains the same. This is what happened in the case of Adam and Eve. When they did not heed the warning, they became separated from the Source. God did not cast them out of Paradise because He stopped loving them, but because Paradise is a place of perfection, and they, through their decision, became imperfect. With sin, pain, mortality, fear, and oppression entered the world. Therefore, when we treat the hardships described in Genesis 3 (such as the tension or dominance between man and woman) as 'the truth' or the ideal state, we are mistaken. Genesis 3 does not present the original truth, but the consequence of sin. The true 'contrast,' the pure state, is found in Genesis 1 and 2: there is no pain there, no oppression, only harmony. What came after the Fall is merely the painful accompaniment of existence outside of Paradise.

could you please clarify where exactly I lied? Where did I distort the Bible? For Jesus Himself said: 'whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant'—I have accurately copied and pasted this here for your sake from the Gospels of Mark 10:43-45, Luke 22:26-27, and Matthew 23:11. Furthermore, the biblical quote from John 13:34 says: 'A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.'

If woman were a servant or an entity to be oppressed—a second-rate, impersonal 'someone' to be ruled over... then why did Jesus reveal Himself first to such a person after the Resurrection? This is the greatest honor one could receive from the Lord, and it was not given to the male disciples, but to Mary Magdalene. Furthermore, He crowned the Immaculate Virgin Mary as the Queen of Heaven... why would He do so if women were inherently beings to be crushed?

To address the second part of your comment... In this imperfect world, we need guidance, and this is where the role of priests comes in. They are God's spokespeople, but we should listen to them not because they are infallible, but because they help the community through the guidance of the Holy Spirit. The essence of the Catholic faith is community, where we do not have to seek the truth alone, as lone wolves. Jesus' twelve apostles are the best example: they were fallible, mistaken people, yet Jesus still entrusted the Church to them to help others find Him. The task of the priest today is the same: to assist in interpretation and understanding. However, the ultimate object of our trust is not another human being, but God Himself. We listen to the priest as a more experienced fellow traveler, but in the meantime, we must also work on our own conscience to find God's voice through the strength of the community, but with individual responsibility.

Thank you for reading all the way through.
