Why does Superboy Prime still wear his Anti-Monitor Armor if he can do this without it?

Does he still need the armor to constantly feed him yellow solar radiation in order to maintain peak power levels?

I made this model as a kid half a century ago.

Clark Kent is the Superboy I grew up with.
