Nihilism can't be lazy nor pathetic

I don't get why some people view nihilism as this? As someone feeling often nihilistic myself; despite my thoughts, I see people being olymptic champions, academic geniuses and people with lots of other success in their life. Meanwhile people like me have never had an achievment in life not a single medal or a high grade.

I don't support the idea that nihilism always have to be associated with depression. I'm sure there are people out there who are nihilists and have great achievements (not saying they can't feel depression) but sometimes I feel like, speaking for myself, I use nihilism as an excuse to my unwillingness to participate in any productive activity because i dont have a goal to achieve in the first place. But I'm also aware of the point nihilism makes and I agree with them separetly from this and I fully support nihilism.

Im not really good at telling about how I feel but in short: I dont know if I'm a nihilist because I see the truth in the meaning of life or am I a nihilist just to make me feel better about myself and find an excuse to my own laziness and bitterness.
