Mavs move up in the draft ft Bulls

Mavs do this to select either morez Johnson Jr or Cameron Carr. Mavs also get a good POA defender in okoro who could be flipped at the deadline to another contender.

Bulls get a good big on a cheap contract and still remain in the draft with 2 picks.

Wizards and magic trade

I expect the magic to shake things up and I don’t think they choose to let go of franz or paolo. They need a true PG. Wizards take a chance and hope Suggs can stay healthy. Worse case scenario for the magic they extend black to whatever money and they let Trae walk for nothing allowing for a better cap future.

Trae obviously also opts into his contract.

If reports of the wizards considering trading down are true here are some team trade packages I could see them considering FT jazz, Grizzlies, bulls and Bucks

If Knicks do not make the finals I anticipate they make some BIG changes.

Pistons get a 4 who fits their defensive identity and can shoot.

Raptors get off a bad contract in Jakob Poeltl and get a young all star Centre who fits the timeline.

Nuggets get off several bad contracts, I would anticipate the rockets would need their 2033 pick as well to take on Braun contract. They’d also open up space to resign Peyton. They also get a defensive back up centre who is a better fit as a backup to Jokic as well as some 3& D wings.

Rockets would trade cam, levert and possibly towns by the deadline. They also buyout Jonas in the summer so he can play overseas. Zeke becomes a trade candidate next off season where he’s expiring or can be used by the deadline to take a bad contract for seconds or a protected first (Portland grant 2027 lottery protected if they’re a playoff team). Braun is the only long term contract they’d have, they better hope he plays like his 2024 self instead of this years. Fred could also be traded to Toronto if he wanted to for Quickleys contract and an additional first or he can stay with the rockets and they work with him in the summer to go somewhere on his expiring.

This trade is possible in the off season where the piston will clear the majority of their cap space. Grizzlies get 3&D plus a secondary ball handler in Ty Jerome who can come off the bench. They also get Trey Murphy who is a shot creator to play along side Cade. The only factor is the Duren contract. I think 30m per is fair but I wonder if they’ll pay him more? Also the seconds I gave to the grizzlies are in year where the pistons have more than one so 3 doesn’t feel like overkill.

In this scenario Mitchell asks out after being bounced out the first round by the raptors. All these trades can be done in the offseason.
