I admittedly have only lived in “traditional” weather environments (cold winters, warm summers), which seems like the norm, but plenty of people love to live in “warm climates” that often have perfect winters, but oppressively hot/humid summers (FL, AZ, TX, etc).
From a parent/kid perspective, wouldn’t you want your “indoor” months to be during the winter when it’s super cold? Holidays, school, and what not. On summer break, I’d want to go out and enjoy the summer weather - not have to worry about constant 100+ degree days.
Again, I’ve never lived in an environment when the summers are the worst and the late fall, winter, and early spring are the best. I’m just curious why people might prefer the inverse. Nearly anywhere you live in the U.S. (other than maybe SoCal), you have to pick either a shitty summer or winter!
