Advice on moving across states?

Due to a very complicated series of events, I am no longer living with my parents. I have about three flat storage bins worth of belongings that I need to transport. I currently plan to move several states away, and since I don't have a car, a loved one is helping me arrive via plane. This means I can only bring what I can carry. This isn't too much of an issue- I only own enough clothes to fit in a suitcase, and important things like my laptop can fit into a bag. However, I did manage to take heavy things like books with me. I currently plan on asking a trusted person to keep the bins in a safe spot until I can afford to have it also moved, which is where the advice comes in. (Sorry for the lead up, but this all felt like important context)

What would be the best way to move those things? As said I don't own a car, and they're too heavy to mail I'm some bigger boxes. A pod, like from uhaul, seems really big for a collection of things that can fit into a closet, or a corner of a single room. I also think maybe looking into movers might be a bit odd, since if I did have a car, they could just... go in the trunk. Unfortunately that isn't really an option. Does anyone have any ideas?
