We are very fortunate to get the opportunity to move to Madrid. We are from the Levant. We have 2 young kids 8y and 3y who will be going to a private international school in Pozuelo De Alarcon (part of the teaching job package).

We were advised to check Idealista and other websites to rent a furnished home for at least 2 months and then search for houses when we are actually in Madrid. Our issue is that there is no way to search availability of the units according to desired dates like in Airbnb and Booking.com

I read a lot about conflicting thoughts about living in Pozuelo De Alarcon as there are lots of wealthy people and spoiled kids. We are not rich and only considering the area because of the school. In theory, we found that we might consider a 1 or 2 bedroom furnished apartment in one of the compounds on Avenida de Europa from 15 August for 2 or 3 months.

Basically we need a good starting strategy that would ease the transition for the kids. Budget is 1,500 Euro up to 2,000 Euro per month. We don't care about nightlife; we prefer a calm area that is safe for the kids to play and have friends.

For transportation, we prefer the commute to be near to school at the beginning while we settle long term and probably get a car.

Please advise if we are planning this wrong and any tips would be of a great help.

Thank you
