Hey everyone, I applied to 9 schools this cycle (4 M7s), worked with a consultant, and ended up with a T15 admit but no scholarship, so I decided not to go. I also got waitlisted at an M7 without an interview, which I’m not sure how to interpret. Since then, I’ve retaken the test and improved my score. Background: Indian male engineer from a Tier 1 college (ORM).
Planning to reapply next cycle, but trying to be more intentional this time. How should I show meaningful improvement beyond the score bump? Is reapplying to the same schools risky without a major role change? And how different do essays need to be vs last time (especially since I already worked with a consultant)?
Would really appreciate candid advice, especially from reapplicants who converted to scholarships or moved up a tier. Thanks.
