I’m 19 now, but this started when I was 17. My best friend of 12 years, Shaurya, asked me for ₹3,300 to buy a third-hand phone for his hostel. Since phones were prohibited, the warden would often forfeit them.
He didn't pay me back for over eight months. During that time, he didn't even meet up with me when he visited our hometown. We used to celebrate everything together, but both Holi and Diwali passed without him. To make it worse, he was leaving my messages on 'seen.' Eventually, I got so frustrated that I called him and lost my temper. He finally sent the money back through our mutual friend, Daksh, and after that, our friendship seemed to go back to normal.
A few months ago, he asked me to pay ₹500 for a clay set he ordered for his brother, Harry, because his mom was at work. He actually paid me back within two days. However, the very next day, a ₹1,300 perfume he ordered arrived at my house. He asked me to cover it and promised to pay me back. I agreed and paid.
Now, history is repeating itself. It has been 12 months and he hasn't returned the money. I’ve seen him around town, but he avoids eye contact, ignores my calls, and leaves my messages unanswered.
My family often asks me that is there any fight happen between both of you? because from a year he didn't come to my home. I always say no, everything is normal.
