I am stressing out because I am going to be late for the first time tomorrow. I live in Nevada. I spoke to my landlord on the 1st and she said just to pay by the 4th, which was my intention but I ran into an issue and by the time I was done getting the run around the office was closed. My lease states there will be a late fee which is fine, i have the $50 to be able to pay the late fee with my rent. I was trying to get assistance with my rent through an agency that helps veterans who are close to eviction. They usually are able to help immediately but there was an issue with my id that I am getting fixed tomorrow morning. Im aware that I am putting the cart before the horse as I haven’t received a quit or pay as of yet, but I have always paid on time for the entire year I’ve been here. I have zero intention of not paying my rent by whatever means necessary, I am just in a situation where I have to choose between waiting an extra 2 days for the money or not attending my appointments or being able to afford food. I am a disabled veteran who cannot work due to the unpredictability of my condition and I’ve had some unforeseen expenses this month that put me over. My lease is due to be renewed next month and I’m really worried about not being able to renew because I currently cannot pay for movers or move my things myself and I am unable to drive until I am cleared through my specialist. Am I an idiot for thinking since it is related to my disability and this is a one time exception I will still be able to renew? I apologize for the word dump
