- Total budget (in local currency) and country of purchase. Please do not use USD unless purchasing in the US: Purchasing in US. I honestly am unsure on budget as it’s my first time buying a laptop for myself, not one that’s been gifted to me. Open to anything as long as it’s not thousands.
- Are you open to refurbs/used? Prefer new— my old laptop was used and had many issues. Looking to start fresh.
- How would you prioritize form factor (ultrabook, 2-in-1, etc.), build quality, performance, and battery life? Performance is probably most important along with battery life, then build quality and form factors take less priority? I’m definitely not opposed to the laptop being 2-in-1, that would actually be helpful but it’s not a necessity.
- How important is weight and thinness to you? Not important. Less bulky the better but as long as it functions I’m a happy camper.
- Do you have a preferred screen size? If indifferent, put N/A. N/A
- Are you doing any CAD/video editing/photo editing/gaming? List which programs/games you desire to run. YES. I use Filmora Wondershare, Adobe. I use Steam and XBOX for games.
- If you're gaming, do you have certain games you want to play? At what settings and FPS do you want? Sims 4 (sue me, it’s a guilty pleasure), Minecraft, some Steam games here and there that have detailed graphics. Just want it to not lag/be glitchy and not make the laptop sound like it about to launch into outer space with its fans.
- Any specific requirements such as good keyboard, reliable build quality, touch-screen, finger-print reader, optical drive or good input devices (keyboard/touchpad)? N/A. But bonus points if it is touch screen or a 2-in-1.
- Leave any finishing thoughts here that you may feel are necessary and beneficial to the discussion. I would be using this mostly for business and personal use: video editing, saving files, playing some games, using browser for spreadsheets and website building etc. I’m not a super tech savvy person but I want this one to last and be able to handle my programs, especially Filmora and games.
