My brother got a guinea pig before the pandemic, he was still a teen and wanted a hamster. My dad confused a guinea pig for a hamster and that's how we got Martha. Safe to say my brother never took care of Martha and delegated that job to me which I was happy to do as I was going through a hard time and a cute fur ball would definitely lift my spirits. She was very fearless, for a guinea pig, but not aggressive. She had a strong personality yet she was very loving and would literally jump into my arms at times to say she wanted to go back to her cage or just wanted some cuddles. She would lick my finger a lot be it for food or to show affection. She had many companions during the years she lived to be 6 years old but other guinea pigs I got were not as lucky. Before Martha I didn't see myself as a guinea pig owner but I didn't choose her, she came to me and made my life better, I hope I was a good owner. Thank you Martha, love you, I'll get you veggies again one day.
