I (25M) have had smelly armpits for as long as I can remember. No matter how many times I would apply soap, scrub and rinse, they always smelled after showers. So I thought thats normal, as I also sweat very often and exercise regularly.
Recently I read in this subreddit that sweat doesn't smell but bacteria does, which made total sense to me. So yesterday as I was washing my hair with anti dandruff shampoo (containing Selenium Disulphide) I figured I would apply it to my armpits as well and let it sit for 2 min as I do for my hair.
To my pleasant surprise, I took a whiff after the shower and for the first time I smelled nothing.
Does that mean I had a fungal infection in my armpits?
TLDR, I always had smelly armpits and anti dandruff shampoo stopped it.
