This is a continuation of my previous post about that locked room on the third floor..

After we told our “expert” friend what we saw, he didn’t laugh. That should’ve been our first warning sign. Instead, he got curious and said he wanted to check it himself.
One fine Saturday he decided to show up and he didn't come alone, he brought holy water or as we like to call it "McDowell no 1 ka bamphar." I guess that asshole wasn't there to do exorcism, he was just looking for a place to drink.
The three of us sat on the terrace as evening started to dull the sunlight around us,drinking courage straight from the disposals he brought and daring each other to look through the peephole on the door.
After getting at the bottom of the bottle, we decided to get to the bottom of the third floor mystery. whiskey had dulled our fear and sharpened our stupidity. Our "expert" friend decided to go first because in his words "Bhoot usi ko dikhta hai jo believe karta hai."
He got close to the door and leaned into the peephole with one eye closed. After a long pause and as we held our breaths he stepped back amd said something we did not expect.
"Yaha to kuch nahi hai be."
I pushed him away and saw for myself through the crack and all I saw was red. My brother also took a peek and there was no girl, just a strange red glow like someone had stuck a red paper or tape on the crack.
The next morning we woke up with disappointment and a hangover and decided to ask the owner of the house. But because we didn't want to look like perverts we came up with a clever lie. We told the owner that our friend was looking for a place and if the third floor room is available for rent.
The man did not even blink and said "Wo room rent k liye nahi hai."
We pressed him a little, asked why keep a perfectly good room locked up in this economy?
After a lot of hesitation he told us..
"We had another child... A daughter."
All three of us froze.
"She died in that room, doctor said it was some rare disease. She stopped eating, her skin turned pale. So pale it looked like wax. Lagta tha sara khoon uski body se nikal ke uski ankho me jama ho gaya tha."
He looked at us, and for a second, it felt like that locked door was right behind him.
"when she died, her pupils were gone, her eyes became bloodshot. The only colour you can see in them was...
RED.
