Progress!
This is a long post so apologies in advance!
So, I just got over being horrendously sick and naturally I wanted comfort food. Well, I ended up ordering a customized medium dominos pizza (half priced, heck yeah!). I did end up eating the entire pizza throughout the day BUT here's what changed.
1- it was all I ate for the day so I wasn't monstrously over my calories. I told myself that if I got this and ate it all then that was all I'd eat for the day due to it already being over my calorie budget. I actually was at peace with this instead of panicking and going into a food doom spiral of needing more more more.
2- I ate a few slices at a time vs gorging on the entire thing in one go and I actually took time to sit and think "am I actually hungry or do I just want to eat something?" Then in the moments I realized I wasn't actually hungry, I got up and worked on cleaning or more productive things instead of eating more.
3- I didn't bang myself up for doing this and actually tracked it instead of avoiding doing so which I typically do. I tracked it and moved on.
4- I didn't stew in the normal "welp, I screwed up so now there's no point in continuing to try to eat better." I sat with those fleeting thoughts and told myself it's fine because days like this happen. I'm consistently in the gym now too as well as making progress with paying attention to my food with what I eat and the tracking so this is overall still HUGE progress.
This is a really big deal and I feel like I'm actually finally making true lasting progress with my health.
