Good evening everyone, hope you are doing well. So I just started a halfling F/T run, as mentioned in my previous post, and intend to finish the first game quickly, then import my character in SoA... which I have not finished so far. For my group composition, I am thinking of taking Jaheira, Minsc, Nalia, Anomen and Haer'Dalis. Without getting into any spoilers, how difficult is it for this team, or any other team, to go for Haer'Dalis straight out of Chateau Irenicus? Is it possible on Core rules? Or should I just forget about it, and go for companions that are on the surface of Athkatla, thus being easier to recruit? Thank you in advance.

Edit : As I expected, getting the tiefling Blade is tough to do right in the beginning. So I will have to choose a team that is easier to assemble. Either Jaheira/Minsc/Nalia/Anomen/Jan, or Jaheira/Minsc/Nalia/Keldorn/Aerie. Thanks everyone for the replies.

Howdy everyone. Most of us, if not all, have wrestled with the fierce demon of restartitis, on multiple occasions. It is a serious struggle, as serious as trying to thwart plans to bathe the Sword Coast in blood, in order to achieve ascension. But what happens when you finally decide on which class to play, and yet still feel like something is missing?

Recently, I was lost once again in the turmoil of trying to pick a class for my next playthrough. After finally making the decision to play as a Fighter/Thief, I started rolling and went with an elf, reason being a cool portrait I had found on the net. I only managed to reach Beregost, before I suddenly lost interest. Something felt off, but I could not exactly pinpoint what it was. So I decided to abandon this run, and play as a halfling instead.

All these years playing the game, I never chose one of the shorty races for my character. I have only played as a halfling Kensai in the Black Pits, and that is it. As soon as I started playing my halfling F/T, everything simply clicked. I am genuinely impressed at how playing the same class, albeit as a different race, can be such a radically different experience. Is it the saving throw bonuses? Is it the excellent bonuses on thieving skills? Is it the challenge involved with Str only going up to 17? Is it because it feels more genuine to roleplay a good alignment as a halfling, compared to an elf? I do not know exactly. Maybe it is all of those combined and more. All I know for sure is that I have been missing out all these years, and I am really enjoying my halfling F/T, even though I am still in the beginning. So here's hoping that he is the guy I finally get to finish SoA and ToB with. I can also see myself playing shorties exclusively for a long time in the future. If only halflings had more class choices available... oh well, you cannot have it all.

Edit : I am reposting this, because post titles cannot be edited, and it was bothering me.
