U.S. CONSULATE LAGOS INTERVIEW
Hi all, posting on behalf of a friend who does not have Reddit:
My husband had his interview today at the U.S. consulate in Lagos Nigeria and they refused him on 3 grounds.
The travel ban of course
They said because our joint sponsor (my mum) filed for bankruptcy 13 years ago that she was not a reliable sponsor so we need to find someone else. This has me very confused because it’s no longer on her record as they deleted the bankruptcy charge from her credit report in 2023 and I also know that bankruptcy should not be a reason for denial
DNA evidence for our daughter who I gave birth to here in the U.S. — does anyone know how long the process takes for this from start to finish?
Once I get a new sponsor and my husband and daughter do their DNA test, how do I contact the embassy to “reopen” our case? Any help would be appreciated. Very frustrating as this CO in particular gave everyone she saw a hard time according to my husband whereby everyone else only got the normal 212F slip
