Built my first microSaaS this weekend an expat utility comparison site for the Netherlands. Roast it.

Hey r/microsaas,
Built my first microSaaS this weekend and wanted to share it here for feedback.

It’s called SwitchDutch (switch-dutch.com) a free English-language comparison site for expats moving to the Netherlands. It covers energy providers, health insurance, and banking. No ads, no data selling, affiliate-funded with full transparency about how it works.

The niche came from scrolling r/Netherlands/talking to my expat colleagues and noticing the same questions over and over: which internet provider, which health insurer, which bank works in English. The info exists but it’s in Dutch and buried in ad-heavy comparison sites. Expats are a small but motivated audience who are used to paying for convenience.

Monetisation is pure affiliate. Dutch energy, health insurance, and banking affiliate programs pay between €30-100 per conversion. Waiting on approval from a few providers still.

The site is still being built out. Prices are updated manually every month. No database yet, all hardcoded for now.

Stack: Next.js, Vercel, Resend for email reminders.
A few things I’d love input on:
• Does the niche make sense to you?
• Anything you’d do differently with the affiliate model?
• Is manual price updating a dealbreaker for trust?
Happy to return feedback on anyone else’s project
