uni admissions?
Hi I js wanted to get this off my chest lol,,
tbh my mind Is just a mess rn and I cannot really articulate my thoughts comprehensively, so apologies in advance if this sounds messy and repetitive 😓
for some context I flunked A's and basically have zero to no options in making it into the big3 unis which I have long made peace with, thus applying to sim/suss as these two schools does have specific courses Im interested in. (ive alrd accepted and gotten and offer from sim & am waiting for a reply/update frm suss after my interview) & the courses are genuinely something I do see myself enjoying and not suffering in (unlike my subj combi in jc), so Im not too worried about the academic aspect of uni (I tend to do far better in subjects I genuinely enjoy & is interested in)
But everytime I see my peers post about their offers from NUS NTU SMU I feel a sene of fomo and shame that Im not gg to experience the quintessential "singaporean uni life" that everyone else gets to experience in the big3. I know that everyone says in the long run no one will care about which uni you attend etcetc but I genuinely feel that in singapore no matter what people will still look down on you if ure not a student from the big3 (sim being a 'pay to win' sch n all)
Another concern I also have besides prestige is the social life aspect, that I wont be able to experience the "fun uni life" in sim/suss as the culture is vastly diff from that of nus/ntu etc,,
I really did thought that I have made peace with gg to a priv uni but I guess I just cannot get the thought of "being behind" my peers & friends just bc Im headed to a priv uni, and the thought of not being good enough and being left behind by everyone as they make new friends etc
On that note, does NUS/SMU/NTU send out rejection letters? Or should I just assume that I won't be offered a place of admissions & that they will ghost me (I applied to the big3 to simply try my luck and am not really expecting anything at all from the schools)
