[Washington] Unemployment still pending, possible job offer?
I am still in pending status, 3 claims files for unemployment still. I have a possible job offer, but there's a catch! The employment facility for this role in MY town isn't in operation yet. They have 2 facilities, i thought the role was for the already in operation location. It is for a new location that has not yet opened. New facility may not even open until July, they aren't 100% sure, the structure is done but the offices/interior needs aren't ready)
The pay will be less than my previous job base rate. I previously made 21.00/base plus an hourly bonus based on my shift specific (evening/night shift), was 27.00/hr. This new job has a pending offer, offer letter not yet received, that will be only 19.00/hr with no shift bonus. (also evening/night).
While the location I applied for is only 10 minutes from my house, because it is not yet ready for operation in my role, i would have to commute to a different location, which is an hour and twenty minutes from my home one way, in order to be trained on my role. With gas almost 5.50/gallon, no unemployment yet, I can't swing that and being a parent. Two kids have to be at school at 830/8:45 am, orientation will START either 8 or 9 am (they are still determining this) in a city over an hour away, at a time BEFORE my children have to be at school. I have no way to get kids to school otherwise if I don't drive them. But I can't drop them off AND make an hour and a half drive, in under 30 minutes if it starts at 9.
What do I do? If I decline I risk benefits?
I'm still applying for jobs where I am but it's a small community for my job type/amount of similar jobs/employers in the area.
