How to make the most of IMT

I'm starting IMT in London this summer. I am someone who wants to do a group 2 specialty and this is very much a means to an end. I am absolutely dreading it. I am not built for it. Any tips to make the most of IMT for someone who isn't a big fan of GIM and acute med? (I'm aware this sounds ridiculous). Any tips to get over the anxiety? It goes without saying, I plan to also use my time to build my portfolio and focus on projects related to my specialty of interest.

What's it like to work there? Pros, cons. I know it's very much service provision. whats the mess like? Whats the teaching like? are senior colleagues generally nice and supportive.
