30 Yo F- Sharing to just get it out-I had my Mirena removed on 02/16 after 5.5 years. On 02/25 I went back to the OBGYN due to experiencing breast tenderness especially on the right and my right breast was fuller. Upon exam my OB located a soft movable lump and referred me for a mammogram and ultrasound. Initially they wanted me to wait 1 1/2 month for this, however after expressing my anxiety my appointment was moved up to a week and a half later. Mammogram was clear, however they reported finding dense breast and a simple cyst in my right breast which was only 4mm and was no longer able to be felt with physical examination. The radiologist said she would see me at 40 for normal exams.

I was on the last few days of my period at the time of the imaging and my breast symptoms had started to ease at that point and for the next 2 weeks things seemed to improve. My mental state was horrible however, I was very anxious, had intrusive thoughts and my body was fatigued, at one point I felt as if I had vertigo for a week 3 weeks post removal.

Fast forward to now 10 weeks post removal and I am in the middle of what I believe to be my third period and my symptoms persist.. my right breast is still larger and hangs lower than my left ( I have always had some sort of asymmetry after having a baby and breast feeding but this is more noticeable.) I have had 4 physical breast exams since removal all by different doctors who note fibrocystic changes but nothing more for concern. My mental health is horrible I am crying and anxious constantly, I still feel fatigued at times and honestly the best I feel is when I am on my period or right after. I had a Hormonal panel 10 days before this period where my progesterone was 1.7 and my estradiol was 63.3. My doctors say this is “normal”. I have signed up for therapy but I am just miserable. Praying things get better soon!
