Hi everyone,

I’m applying for a Bachelor of Science, but my 2024 ATAR (77.1) falls short of the guaranteed entry requirement, so I’m a bit unsure about my chances.

For context, I’m from a regional area in Victoria, my family is on Centrelink benefits, and I’m the first in my family to pursue university. At my high school, I achieved the highest ATAR among domestic students at the time, and I also received the highest statewide study score for one of my VET subjects.

I’m not sure how much these factors are taken into account for direct entry, given that my raw ATAR is still below the cutoff.

From what I’ve researched, the Access Melbourne program seems like my best option. I was wondering if anyone here has experience with Access Melbourne or has been in a similar situation. Did it help you get into your course? How likely is it that I could still receive an offer?

Any insights or advice would be really appreciated.
