The Menu today-

Tempura chicken

Vegetable fried rice

Spring roll.

Choice of sauce cup (teriyaki or sweet and sour)

An Employee from another department asks the kitchen "whats tempura chicken?"

DMO says "Chinese chicken, you know, but without the sauce"

Employee- "whats the difference is Chinese chicken and regular chicken?"

Frycook seizes his opportunity "regular chicken says bawk bawk....Chinese chickens say baaawwwwwk *while going into crane stance*

Employee- *eye roll and exit scene*

I love my staff.

Are there any mid-life career change folks out there going INTO the medical field?

Like the title states I need some nonbiased input or wisdom.

35m CDM, CFPP, I'm currently the Foorservice Supervisor at a 60bed snf. I've been here almost 4 years now.

I've kinda reached a dead end. There is no upward movement from where I am, and I'm almost capped out on annual raises. Also, feeling like I've lost compassion for the position, partially due to constantly losing friends is sucking my soul away, and administration doesnt make it any better. Im tired of staying in budget, being micromanaged, supervising, being damage control, call outs. I just want to help people

I graduate with a bachelor's in business administration in 28' and plan to double back for the required sciences. There is plenty of opportunity to shadow for patient care hours in my facility on the weekends through the floor nurses and CNAs or PT and OT. I also have good repor with the MedDir and the PA for letters of reference.

My wife is supportive but hesitant because she doesnt work and isnt sure how we will survive while Im in the PA program.

She suggested selling our house and moving to the area the school's in as an option, It would guarantee rent and bills during the PA program. Renting it out or a heloc are optio s too. Ate there any im missing, I would love to return to the health system im in now. We also have 2 small children and a 9yo.

I'm torn at the moment but I have time to decide.

Any input or opinions appreciated
