Our hardwood floors were refinished 5 years ago but the baseboards and quarter round were not removed. The floors look terrible near the baseboards and have areas of uneven and excess finish. Is there a way to fix this area of the flooring? I would like to replace the baseboards but not have to use something that will extend greater than 1 inch from the wall to cover the non-finished areas.

First time home buyer rookie mistake. Had 2 kids and now coming out of the baby fog and seeing how terrible everything looks.
