The game has been amazing and I dont have any problems with the story. Kliffs lack of dialogue is fine if you just layer over the fact that he’s an attractive white dude with 0 personality or depth, like a lot of attractive people who never have to develop a proper personality. Gets rekt, comes back, gets mysterious powers, has to learn about it while stopping wars, bandits and the end of everything. Its the same story as most games.
Nobody except a few people in the game world even know about the abyss (especially Hernand) which is why it seems like you learn nothing in the beginning.
Even the lack of dialogue from NPCs i can attribute to them being peasants and never learning to say anything other than “have the words of my wares reached you” im sure most peasant shopkeeps in the past have said the same line because it sounds interesting. I work retail and have the same conversations everyday 😂
My only gripe about it is when >!you beat ludvig the first time in Pailune and he jumps over that wall from you and escapes. Like, Kliff, budddy, you got wings my guy. You been flying around the abyss puzzles like Mario, superman flying between mountains and you get stumped by a 20ft drop? Jump over that wall, and meteor kick him into extinction. The fuq.!< The not using your ascended powers in cut scenes and moments where you get whooped after whoopin’ are incredulous 😂
